Laura Mehlhaff, born and raised in Boise, Idaho, has worked in the industries of film and content creation for over ten years. The feature film Frozen River, for which Laura was on the producing team, was nominated for two Academy Awards, won the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival, won two Gotham awards, and received seven nominations at the Spirit Awards. Her other works include the award winning film The Dry Land [America Ferrera, Wilmer Valderrama, Jason Ritter, Melissa Leo], award winning Magic Valley [Scott Glenn, Kyle Gallner, Matthew Gray Gubler, Will Estes], the award winning Brooklyn Brothers Beat the Best [Melissa Leo, Andew McCarthy, Ryan O'Nan, Michael Weston, Arielle Kebbel], the Sundance hit Ass Backwards [Casey Wilson, June Diane Raphael, Bob Odenkirk, Vincent D'Onofrio, Alicia Silverstone, Jon Cryer], and more. Laura's films have been showcased around the world including the Sundance Film Festival, SxSW, Tribeca Film Festival, Toronto International Film Festival, and other keystone festivals. Mehlhaff has produced work for Showtime, ESPN, Wall Street Journal, Custom Studios, and more. In 2012, Laura helped launch the inaugural Sun Valley Film Festival, and is entering her 8th year as the Director of Programming. During her time with the festival she has developed several programs that aim to encourage and incentivize filmmaking in Idaho and beyond.
