Lori Hile
Gene Siskel Film Center Outreach and Media Coordinator
Chicago, Illinois
I joined the Gene Siskel Film Center in 2014, after working as the Publicity Manager for the Chicago International Film Festival and as a District Marketing Manager and Community Relations Coordinator in my 15-year career at Borders Books & Music. At Borders, I conceived, publicized, and implemented hundreds of events and marketing initiatives for multiple store locations and cultivated mutually beneficial partnerships with a range of businesses, schools, non-profits, and cultural organizations throughout Chicagoland.
I've utilized these skills and resources in my work at the Film Center, where I engage the community through educational screenings, social media strategy, filmmaker appearances, and promotional partnerships with various cultural organizations and special interest groups.
I hold a two-year graduate certificate in Creative Nonfiction Writing from the University of Chicago and a B.A. from the University of Michigan and Eastern Michigan University, where I graduated summa cum laude with a double major in English Literature and Philosophy.
I'm also a writer who's published several non-fiction books for young adults as well as magazine articles.
I look forward to sharing what I know and soaking in the collective wisdom of my talented art house counterparts!
